Structural: a plant-derived antioxidant complex and tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate (a stable, lipophilic vitamin C ester) help mitigate oxidative stress on dermal collagen. Cellular: a diglucosyl gallic acid derivative supports cell turnover and pore appearance. Each zone addresses a distinct mechanism rather than one active doing broad, undifferentiated work.

It’s formulated without fragrance — only natural mandarin and grapefruit extracts — without pH-dependent acids, and without high-irritation actives, which makes it broadly suitable across dry, oily, combination, and sensitive skin types. Two of the reasons are mechanistic rather than positioning choices.
First, daytime skin exposure is primarily oxidative and environmental (UV-adjacent stress, pollution, barrier strain), so the formula is weighted toward antioxidant defense and barrier reinforcement rather than active renewal. Second, some ingredients used in our nighttime formula are functionally incompatible with daytime use. For example, a repair-associated enzyme that requires visible light to activate, and a collagen-signaling peptide that isn’t formulated alongside vitamin C. Splitting AM and PM lets each formula use its full active profile without those conflicts.
